Fundamental on almost every constitution of sovereign countries, is the bill of rights. Human rights organizations are all over trying to fight for rights which as supposed in our society should be the bottom line of everything. Human rights is a very important factor if people are to live in peace and harmony. It keeps us in peace so we may perform our duties gracefully without harming fellow citizens and being destructive in one way or another. These days in our societies we see that these rights being applied selectively. Based on social class, social media reputation, credibility, authority or how loud the person complains or yells… Paradox… One question always lingers in my mind; are some people’s rights more superior than mine or yours?
There are those news pieces which no one knows about or sees. A great example would be a popular politician in Kenya, (country located in East Africa just in case you thought Africa is a country), even after being suspected to have shot and killed his son, he was still walking free as if no crime had been committed. The area OCS (Officer Commanding Station), accompanied with a few officers, peacefully raided his home and found the aged politician resting at his home. They waited as he prepared himself to accompany them to write a statement at the nearby police station. This reminded me of the cheap movie scenarios with actors who are friends of the cleaner. The police officers, seemingly receiving orders from this murder suspect, trailed as he rode his vehicle to the police station. He even had guts to stop at a nearby shopping center and buy himself some goods before proceeding with his journey to the police station. This was on TV, public saw it… But what can you do?
At the police station he wrote a statement and despite the police department having credible evidence against him, they let him go. They even provided him with escort, comparable to the ones offered to dignitaries, on his way back home. Obama back in the days would have been very jealous looking at this guy.
Many times we see on live TV police arresting law offenders and people like you and me who missed the trash bin or jaywalked. We are not even given a chance to speak out. We are hurriedly handcuffed, surrounded by a dozen of police officers albeit ourselves being unarmed, driven to police stations and locked up in cells waiting trial which might take some days or even months. In many situations people who got behind bars are not even informed why they are being arrested, until the police will apologize if they will not find anything or will create a story, just because their office job is super boring and screwing up people is an entertainment for them (Eastern European speaking here). You are only told to remain silent while being brutally arrested by mean officers and they call that a right. I guess this is the most applicable right to normal citizens. It is one of the rights used without hesitation (United States is a different story).
Politicians are seen day in day out breaking laws and codes of conduct. In political rallies all they talk about is hate speech and inciting comments yet no police officer dares to arrest them. They are involved in corruption scandals yet they are the ones we entrust to sit in finance committees, investigation committees, making laws of the country, passing the budget and we even gave them the power to amend laws. Even when they have lawsuits against them, they are often bailed out, the jury takes years to decide on their cases often times ending up to dismiss the cases on lack of evidence. The few times that judgment is passed against, it is usually a reduced jail sentence or fines. Do we have normal citizens and elite citizens? Are there superior rights and inferior rights? Are some people meant to enjoy rights more than the others? Is the bill of rights applied selectively? you tell me…
POLITICS : Good or Bad?
After the recent news about a terrorist attack on Westminster bridge in London, club shooting in USA Cincinnati and anti-corruption protests all over Russia I had a few thoughts on my mind. The political situation in the world is very unstable, as every politician is trying to be as sensitive as he could be regarding any issue. This does not solve a problem… Rather creates new ones. This situation needs another perspective… Another way…. There are two sides of the medal… Politics is a broad and complicated topic in its core. So what is it?
Politics is a method of decision-making with majority support and everyone’s agreement as well as decision taken up forcefully with the help of violence. According to Chanakya -” Bad politics is bad and healthy politics is good”-if said in a proper way, if you want to play clean with any violence or riots ,Politics can then be termed good-if violence, riots and mass moving speeches on religions are involved which can cause blood shedding then its called toxic politics. “Just how cynical should we be about politics”,said Barack Obama. Probably not even the politicians are able to decide whether they should term the field in which they are working GOOD or BAD. At times the true ideology of politics seems to be “For the party,by the party and to the party.” But some Politicians like Barack Obama and Narendra Modi are changing this modern ideology of politics to it’s previous form i.e. “For the people,by the people”.
Although good politics has almost reached to the verge of extinction but the light of hope is always there due to some great and magnificent leaders given by our world leaders. To find good in circumstances which seem awful;this can be termed as the current situation of politics .The silhouette always has a sliver lining to it but it’s center always remains dark until it’s completely exposed to the light . That’s exactly what is needed in the modern politics .i.e. transparency.
The system should be transparent to the people to create a bond of trust with the masses . This gives an optimistic mindset to the people who have used their right to vote their representative .This creates a positive outlook in the youth who have lost faith in politics and have started to think that politics can only be dirty and corrupted. This will make them interested in politics and a huge participation of youth can happen which could bring in a fresh and young mind into this field which can solve and clean the mess and misunderstandings formed and accumulated.
The prime time of all news channels are occupied with this core topic-POLITICS . And a group of people sit together to form a panel and as soon as the discussion starts, whatever the topic be people end up saying things on the current situation of politics whether bad or good! Even there we see that people do not care about the opinion of the person sitting in front of them but they will keep on shouting until the person accepts their point and is forced to stay quite . Patience is something needed by the politicians . Politics means patience where you have to listen to everyone and find a cooperative way to solve problems instead of creating one. There are pros and cons to everything and so does politics. If seen from the optimistic way politics isn’t just smoke-filled rooms and corruption but the means to make their community, states and nations a better place. The reality cannot be changed but the actions of present can change the future. Whether good or bad ,politics has both sides to it.Some or better to say the majority of us think politics as a way of rephrasing the word corruption but people are trying to bring a change into this which can erase it’s darker side and so that there wouldn’t be discussions on whether its’s good or bad.
Sometimes I am thinking about the things I look up on the internet, and which things the internet provides me, or suggests. It is possible to speak about the dark net for a long time, and I will of course speak about it some day, but at this point let us look into the world of dank memes.
To make your life easier, I have looked up some definitions in vocabularies for the word “dank memes”. The short description would be: “A meme that is just really radical, cool, and neat.”, and the more explicit definition of a meme which is taken from the Urban Dictionary:
“”The real origin of the term: dank is a slang word from SF bay area that meant ‘good weed, it’s been around at least a decade.. eventually it just came to mean ‘cool’ in SF Bay Area Slang.. so seeing that tech culture emanates from the bay area people just probably started saying “dank meme” as a joke and others started using it ironically or unironically whether they knew or didn’t know the origin. It’s still a pretty dank word I use it all the time.”
I recommend taking with with you along your way in life as I see this as very important piece of information for you life in general. The problem here is that the majority of people do not understand the concept of dank memes, but trust me… I got so many people addicted by the memes I provided for them and the videos I was sending them. Small explanation of the adaptation to memes.
- Step one: Shock
- Step two: Ignorance
- Step three: Boredom
- Step four: Trial Period
- Step five: Slow adaptation (this varies per individual)
- Step six: Addiction
This is how it usually goes with anything, but keep in mind that there are always special cases of the addiction process towards memes.
